Facts and product features of the Wunderlich Suspension powered by TracTive S4 HPA shock absorbers
High-performance shock absorber of the latest generation as an upgrade or replacement for the standard suspension. Developed to meet the high demands of discerning adventure riders who frequently venture off-road, touring riders who regularly travel with heavy loads, and those who want additional safety reserves. With PDS anti-bottoming system and hydraulic spring preload adjustment (HPA).
We individually select the spring rate using your personal riding profile specifications.
- Damping characteristics
- Our shock absorbers are specifically developed for each vehicle and its intended use, offering high performance and impressive reserves.
- The balanced, sensitive damping behaviour of our suspension components ensures neutral and predictable handling, fostering confidence in your motorcycle and enhancing your riding enjoyment.
- The shocks stand out for their excellent transparent feedback, optimising the tyre’s grip on the road, wheel control, and tracking stability, while reducing tyre wear.
- Individual damping adjustment: the high-quality shock absorber features both high- and low-speed compression damping adjustment, meaning the compression damping can be tuned according to the compression speed (i.e. the speed at which the damping piston moves during the compression stroke).
- The rebound adjustment with 18 clicks allows for precise fine-tuning of the damping using the suspension tool.
- The shock absorber is equipped with a so-called PDS system, which reduces the risk of bottoming out and the associated stresses from hard impacts during demanding use.
- The PDS system, together with the extensive options for individual adjustment of rebound and compression, meets the highest demands of adventure and touring riders. It significantly enhances comfort and safety and can help reduce frame stress.
- To achieve optimal, sensitive response characteristics,
- the oil channels are generously dimensioned to minimise flow resistance,
- we use pistons with a large diameter (46 mm),
- as well as low-friction seals and special shim stacks.
- These closed shock absorbers feature an external, forged aluminium reservoir that supports the thermal stability and performance of the system through optimal heat dissipation.
- The generously dimensioned oil volume and large cooling surface ensure
- a low and optimal operating temperature of the oil,
- which not only ensures consistently high performance,
- but also contributes to a longer service life of both the damper and the oil.
- Spring characteristics and preload
- Hydraulic preload adjustment: the shock absorber is equipped with a sealed, extremely robust hydraulic spring preload system. The preload is conveniently adjusted via an easily accessible handwheel. The robust design of the preload adjuster withstands the toughest conditions.
- The wide adjustment range compensates for a broad spectrum of load conditions.
- Tuning
- Special Wunderlich Suspension tuning for adventure and touring riders with high demands on their suspension.
- Customisation
- We individually select the spring rate using your personal riding profile specifications: once you have chosen your shock absorber, simply specify your personal details during the ordering process – these form the basis for selecting the spring that best suits you.
- Maintenance
- Each shock absorber can be completely and professionally serviced at the Wunderlich Suspension Centre.
- The suspension tool is included in the delivery.
