The Wunderlich engine guard EXTREME

The functional design and structural integration of our EXTREME engine guard protects the engine and header pipes. It fits so closely around the power unit that not only is the frontal impact area minimised, but ground clearance and lean-angle clearance remain virtually unchanged. The shape of the guard prevents unpleasant levering or snagging off-road, whether caused by branches, scree or rocks. Openings ensure that water taken on after river crossings can drain away freely. Typically Wunderlich, unrestricted and easy access for maintenance work has been taken into account: for example, a dedicated opening has been provided to allow the engine oil to drain freely. The aluminium engine guard is corrosion-resistant, and any forces and vibrations that occur are absorbed by impact-decoupling mounting elements. We manufacture the EXTREME engine guard using the technologically demanding and advanced hydroforming process. This allows us to realise complex component shapes and geometries, especially asymmetrical ones, where optimising the material thickness enables us to achieve lower weight while at the same time providing high component rigidity and mechanical stability. The result is a durable, weight- and shape-optimised engine guard that fits so closely and organically around the power unit that the design principle of “form follows function” becomes obvious. It is available in a black powder-coated version. Our EXTREME engine guard is Made in Germany. That is why we are happy to provide a 5-year warranty.
