Our stylishly designed engine protection stands out from the original silver-coloured version thanks to its optimised protective coverage and the fact that we offer it in black.
The functional design and structural integration of our engine protection safeguard the engine casing, sump and header pipes. It fits so closely around the unit that not only is the frontal surface area optimised, but ground and lean angle clearance remain virtually unchanged. The shape of the protection reduces the risk of unpleasant levering or snagging off-road, whether caused by branches, gravel or rocks. Openings ensure that water collected during river crossings can drain off freely.

The angled impact plates deflect stones or foreign objects thrown up by the front wheel in such a way that the risk of damage to the header pipes and engine is significantly reduced. Another advantage of this engine protection is that it deflects splash water thrown up in surges downwards and, particularly when the engine is hot, significantly reduces thermal stress on the engine casing, header pipes and seals.
The complex component shape and geometry are the result of optimising material thickness and weight while simultaneously achieving high structural rigidity and mechanical stability. The result is a durable, weight- and form-optimised engine protection that fits so closely around the unit that the design principle of “form follows function” becomes evident, perfectly underlining the Edge design in authentic Adventure style.
