In the event of the motorcycle tipping over or being involved in a crash, the axle protection pads help effectively protect the fork, wheel axle and brake system from damage.

The protection pads keep these components away from the ground or road surface during point contact or sliding contact, thereby reducing or preventing expensive damage to the motorcycle. In addition to the choice of material, we have integrated two key specific properties into the design and tested them in racing: damping and friction behaviour during the sliding phase. Damping: The first positive property is damping, which can fully or partially absorb part of the impact energy in the event of sudden force impacts.

The second positive property concerns the friction behaviour of the axle protection pads. Due to the special component geometry, the effective contact or sliding surface progressively increases as the load rises. As a result, the protection pad initially offers comparatively low friction during light contact, while more energy is dissipated during prolonged sliding contact with the road surface. This can help reduce the duration of the sliding phase and the motorcycle’s sliding distance. For optimum protection of your machine, we recommend combining our axle protection pads with our vehicle-specific crash bar systems, for which we offer additional protection pads.
